Associate Director/Principal Scientist, Target Discovery at WuXi AppTec in Remote
Responsibilities Essential Job Functions:
Provides work direction, staff development, performance management including writing and conducting performance evaluations of assigned staff. Responsible for the preparation of multiple complex project proposals based on client needs. Plan, coordinate and execute multiple ongoing projects with assigned team to meet deadlines. Works in conjunction with client and/or outside partners to plan and execute complex scientific projects. Perform bench work (i.e. cell based assay development) as needed Communicates directly with clients to provide frequent updates and progress reports. Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and Policies and Standard Operating Procedures. Complies with all safety rules, practices good housekeeping, and maintains safe workplace. Occasional weekend work and holidays may be required Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience / Education Ph.D. in Molecular biology, Cell biology, Immunology, Oncology or related field and 5
years of experience in industry settings. Contract Research Organization (CRO), biotech, and/or pharmaceutical industry experience is highly desirable. Expert skills in the following areas is required:
Cellular and molecular biology, in vitro pharmacology. Target validation, cell signaling MOA studies. Biochemical and cellular assays. iPSC and primary cells experience is preferred. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Expert knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within biological R&D laboratory setting including genome editing using CRISPR and iPSC & ESC research. Thorough knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices. Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills. Knowledge of internet research, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of instrument and data analysis software. Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required. Ability to think critically and scientifically. Ability to work well in team settings, build collaborative relationships with management, partners and peers from diverse backgrounds. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Well organized, detail oriented, and adaptable to change. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
